As a reminder as to how important every word we say to the people we serve a great mentor of mine, the late Dr. DeJarnette made the statement that “Words kill more people than bullets”. Think of the millions of lives that have and are being lost because of the utterances of dictators, despots and duly elected governments throughout recent history alone.

Closer to home, think about the impact of the language that you are using on your circle of influence, your friends, your family and worst of all on YOU. Even the most caring of intentions can be expressed in words that are damaging. How often do you hear a parent telling a child not to fall off the tree that the child is climbing on or telling a person who is going skiing not to break a leg? How about yourself – how often do you tell yourself that you are hopeless or not good at (fill in the gap) or that I am shy, extroverted, or that I am useless at (fill in your favourite limitation)?

Bring on the Stress

These innocent or well-meaning words and sentences are in fact damaging embedded commands, which so often will manifest as the very thing they were designed to avoid.

Many people dismiss any discussion on the correctness of terminology as “mere semantics” and I would contest this lazy notion. Words represent something. Words have energy, a vibration. Science tells us that the vibration of your words and even your thoughts radiates out and influences everything that it contacts. How often do you think of someone who you haven’t seen for a long time and within a day or two they call or you bump into them?

It could be said that your future and maybe the future of others is created by the words that you utter today. It would appear that our language is a representation of reality and that it may go a long way towards creating your reality. Linguists tell us that language is a code of visual-auditory symbols that converts concepts into the mental equivalents of concretes.

The concepts that drive your words are derived from your Quadrant 1 part and this feeds to your Quadrant 2 part for the required compilation. Quadrant 3 then takes over and wordsmiths the group of words and puts the tone to it and it is then expressed and transmitted to the world through your Quadrant 4 part. Every word you use (with the exception maybe of proper nouns) is a symbol that denotes a concept. Your concepts create your reality and your future.

Your words create your reality – so choose your words with care and this begins with the words that you tell yourself with your internal dialogue.

If you really want to invest in yourself and your future I suggest that you enroll in the Your Fantastic Future Formula course and consciously create your reality.
